Emogene’s Emergency Shelter ↘

Our emergency shelter provides interim housing and family services, up to 90 days, for women and children. Clients focus on securing permanent housing while stabilizing their family unit and leveraging resources. Case management services are required, and access is offered to our job training and economic empowerment programs.

New Bridges Transitional Shelter ↘

The transitional shelter program is part of our comprehensive continuum of housing services and offers women and children a safe place to stay while putting residents on a path to permanent housing. This program is designed to provide up to one year of safe housing, and offers case management services as well as access to our job training and economic empowerment programs.

Permanent Supportive Housing ↘

This program is comprised of multiple apartment units located adjacent to our administrative offices. Residents in this program may be men or women with or without children. Residents sign a lease and pay a subsidized rental rate for these units and must comply with certain program requirements. Residents also have access to optional case management services, outside referrals, job training and economic empowerment programs.

YWCA NCW empowers women, men and children to break the cycle of economic insecurity and homelessness, and achieve self-sufficiency through assistance, support, and education. Serving hundreds annually, our gender-inclusive programs and services include safe and stable housing for women and children, outside case management services for all, external social and health service referrals, external referrals to housing coordination, rental assistance, legal support as well as a comprehensive job training and economic empowerment program. YWCA NCW is committed to helping individuals and families improve their economic status, obtain permanent housing, and secure lasting independence.

These services are offered to the women and families participating in our housing programs. Some of these services are also available as community outreach (those living outside the YWCA.)

How To Get Help ↘

Emergency Help

If you are in need of emergency shelter, we schedule intake appointments Monday through Friday between the hours of 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Openings are based on availability - sometimes the shelter is full.

If you are an emergency shelter or outside agency making a referral for housing, call our Housing Department 509-662-3531 option 2.
